Ava is a master’s student at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She received my undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in advertising and public relations. Ava completed an internship at the Lincoln Police Department, where she worked alongside officers on a DUI analysis project to identify trends and correlations. She also participated in a death investigation seminar, training academy sessions, and ride-alongs to gain hands-on experience within the field. This past summer, Ava had the opportunity to work at the Nebraska State Patrol as a Concealed Handgun Permit Specialist. Here, she processed and renewed Concealed Handgun Permits and determined eligibility by cross-checking data through multiple platforms. While working with the Lincoln Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol, Ava maintained a high standard of academic performance and graduated with high honors. Her goal is to work for federal law enforcement with a focus on national security threats.
