Zach Hamilton Receives ASC Division of Corrections and Sentencing Distinguished Scholar Award

ARC Lab Director Zach Hamilton has received the Distinguished Scholar Award from the American Society of Criminology’s Division on Corrections and Sentencing.

The Distinguished Scholar Award recognizes a lasting scholarly career in corrections and sentencing, with particular emphasis on groundbreaking contributions made within the past five years. The award also recognizes contributions to the Division through research and service.

The recognition marks another milestone in Hamilton’s contributions to corrections scholarship. He previously received the Division’s Distinguished New Scholar Award in 2018.

Hamilton is one of two ARC Lab professors recognized by the Division this year, with ARC Lab Director Jenn Tostlebe receiving the Distinguished New Scholar Award.

The award will be presented at the 2026 American Society of Criminology Annual Meeting in Chicago.
